Why guest photos are the most honest wedding photos
A wedding photographer can only be in one place at a time. While they follow the two of you through the drinks reception, something is happening at the kids’ table, at the bar and out on the terrace that you’ll never get to see. Those are exactly the pictures your guests have on their phones – and exactly the pictures that usually get lost after the party.
A few end up in WhatsApp groups, heavily compressed and spread over weeks. Others stay for ever in the camera rolls of people you may not see again for years. A shared wedding gallery solves the problem where it starts: on the night itself, while everyone is still there and in the mood to join in.
Collecting wedding photos by QR code: how it works
You create your event in a few minutes and get a QR code plus a link. Print the code on table cards, hang it by the bar or send the link ahead with the invitation. Guests scan it with their normal phone camera, confirm the privacy notice and can start shooting straight away – right in the browser, with no app and no account.
Each guest has a limited number of shots, 30 per person with the Wedding package. That may sound like little, but it’s deliberate: people who can’t snap endlessly choose more carefully. With 100 guests you still end up with as many as 3,000 pictures from angles no photographer could cover.
QR code, WhatsApp group or disposable camera?
A WhatsApp group is quick to set up, but it compresses photos, mixes pictures with chat messages and requires you to have every guest’s number. Disposable cameras on the tables are charming, but soon cost more than ten euros each plus developing – and a good share of the pictures come out blurred or underexposed.
Sammelmomente combines the two: the care and anticipation of a disposable camera with the image quality of modern phones. You pay once per event, there’s no subscription, and your guests don’t have to install anything. If you like, keep the gallery locked until the next morning and look through the pictures together over breakfast.
Collecting photos at your wedding: step by step
- Create the event and get your QR code. You create your event in the browser, pick colours and a welcome message and get a QR code plus link straight away. It only takes a few minutes.
- Hand out the code. Print the card from the editor in A4, A5 or A6 and put it on the tables at your wedding – or send the link to the group beforehand.
- Guests take photos in the browser. Scan, confirm the privacy notice, start shooting. No app and no account. With poor reception, shots are stored and uploaded later.
- Reveal the gallery and save the photos. You open the gallery straight away, at a set time or with a click. Then you download all the pictures as a ZIP.

How to make it work at your wedding
- Put a card with the QR code on every table. You design the printable card yourself in the editor – with your names in script lettering, your own photo, in A4, A5 or A6.
- Ask your best man, maid of honour or the DJ to mention the code briefly. One announcement after dinner does more than any sign.
- Limit the shots per guest on purpose. As with a disposable camera, people think about what they capture – and you get fewer duplicate photos of the buffet.
- Download all the pictures as a ZIP after the wedding. Photos are deleted automatically once the storage period ends.

Does it work if the venue has poor reception?
Yes. Shots are stored on the phone first and uploaded automatically as soon as there’s a connection again. Guests should keep the camera page open, or reopen it later in the same browser.
Can strangers see our wedding photos?
The gallery can only be reached through your secret event link and a guest sign-in on each device. The pictures sit in private storage. After the celebration you can close the event to new guests, and then nobody gets in even if the link is passed on.
Does Sammelmomente replace the wedding photographer?
No, and it isn’t meant to. The photographer delivers the big, planned pictures. Your guests deliver the unplanned ones – from angles no photographer could cover at the same time.
How long are the photos stored?
With the Wedding package, 180 days from the event date. You can download everything during that time. After that, the event and its pictures are deleted automatically.
How much does Sammelmomente cost for a wedding?
Up to 10 guests, Sammelmomente is free for good. The 100 guests package is a one-off €39 per event and covers up to 100 guests with 30 photos each and 90 days of storage. There’s no subscription and no automatic renewal.
How do guests get the QR code?
Through the printable card from the editor (A4, A5 or A6) that you put out at your wedding, or through the event link you send by messenger or with the invitation. Both lead to the same page.
Do guests need an app or an account?
