The first day of school is a day of many small moments, and almost every one of them is worth a photo: your child with their school cone and satchel by the front door, the first walk to school holding a parent’s hand, the moment at the school gate, unpacking the school cone in the afternoon. Then there are the pictures people rarely think of – the grandparents who travelled specially, the siblings, the table laid for coffee and cake.
Everyone in the family photographs something different that day. To bring all those points of view together you need one shared place – and one that isn’t public. Sharing children’s photos from the first day of school safely
Pictures of children don’t belong in public albums, nor in large group chats. The Sammelmomente gallery can only be reached through your secret event link, every guest confirms the privacy notice before their first photo, and the servers are in Germany. After the celebration you close the event to new guests – then nobody new gets in, even with a forwarded link.

Create the event a few days ahead and send the link to the family, for example together with the digital invitation you use to collect replies for the party. For the afternoon, design a card with the QR code in the editor in A4, A5 or A6 – with your child’s name, say – and put it on the table. Grandma and Grandad need neither an app nor an account: scan the code, confirm the notice, take photos.
With a limit of 5, 10, 15 or 25 photos per guest you get a selection of the best moments instead of twenty near-identical school cone shots. In the guestbook, godparents and grandparents leave a few words for the new schoolchild. For most celebrations the “50 guests” package with 90 days of storage is enough – download the photos as a ZIP during that time, for a photo book of the first school year perhaps.
Collecting photos at the first-day-of-school party: step by step
- Create the event and get your QR code. You create your event in the browser, pick colours and a welcome message and get a QR code plus link straight away. It only takes a few minutes.
- Hand out the code. Print the card from the editor in A4, A5 or A6 and put it on the tables at the first-day-of-school party – or send the link to the group beforehand.
- Guests take photos in the browser. Scan, confirm the privacy notice, start shooting. No app and no account. With poor reception, shots are stored and uploaded later.
- Reveal the gallery and save the photos. You open the gallery straight away, at a set time or with a click. Then you download all the pictures as a ZIP.

Tips for the first-day-of-school party
- Follow the school’s rules on photography while you’re there. Most family pictures are taken before and after anyway: by the front door, on the way to school and at the party at home.
- Photos in which other children from the class are clearly recognisable only belong in the gallery with their parents’ consent. Anything that doesn’t belong there you can delete at any time.
- Put a card with the QR code on the table for coffee and cake, and ask the grandparents for a few words in the guestbook. You design the printable card in the editor – with your child’s name, for example.

Yes. Send them the event link. Once they’ve joined, they see the pictures in the gallery and can write a greeting in the guestbook. They then also count towards your package’s guest limit.
